My daughter Sonia came with me to Beijing last year. She works as an epidemiologist (dealing with epidemics) in Malawi on a Child Health Project, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, via Save the Children. Her project has improved the survival chances for kids in rural Malawi and the government is taking up the methods developed there. It has completed its first five year phase and Sonia is considering coming to work with us in China, on occupational health, to diversify her skills. She would make a great addition. In China, we are developing work in New Zealand with the Massey University Centre for Public Health Research, in a joint co-operation with European, Australian and American colleagues and the State Administration of Work Safety, China’s OSH Ministry.
